South Jordan ZIP Code Coverage
Two ZIP Codes serve most South Jordan addresses in the official sources inspected. They are useful search keys, but neither is a substitute for the city boundary or a parcel record. The postal route may continue beyond a municipal edge, and a current map can differ from an older address line.
| ZIP | South Jordan relationship | Post office | Directory note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 84095 | Core, east, and legacy South Jordan mailing area | South Jordan Post Office, 10102 S Redwood Road | Check city GIS before treating ZIP as city limit |
| 84009 | West-of-Bangerter South Jordan-area delivery ZIP | Verify exact routing through USPS | Created in 2015 from the 84095 area |
No additional standard South Jordan city-serving ZIP was confirmed in the inspected official sources. An edge address needs an address-level USPS check, not a guess from a ZIP polygon.
South Jordan 84009 and 84095 Split
The Utah ZIP change notice says 84009 began July 1, 2015, west of Bangerter Highway. It split the South Jordan-area delivery geography from 84095, while the old 84095 address remained accepted during a one-year grace period.
This is a central South Jordan ZIP code directory quirk. A pre-2015 deed letter, directory, newspaper notice, or family record may use 84095 for a place now written 84009. Search the old form as printed, but use the street, legal parcel, and subdivision to decide whether two records describe the same place.
UGRC’s current ZIP page records a November 2025 Salt Lake County west-side update aligning polygons with county address points. Polygons remain approximate, and the state’s feature service is a map aid rather than an address certification.
South Jordan ZIP Code Boundaries
Utah’s Geospatial Resource Center explains that ZIP polygons approximate postal delivery areas. They are not municipal, parcel, voting, or school boundaries. South Jordan GIS supplies a separate City Boundary layer, while county parcels, voter precincts, city-council districts, flood zones, zoning, and subdivisions follow their own lines.
- ZIP Code
- A postal delivery label used to route mail.
- ZIP+4
- A longer delivery code not established by the city parcel map.
- PO-box ZIP
- A postal designation that may route mail without describing a residential parcel.
- Carrier route
- A delivery route inside postal operations, not a legal neighborhood.
- Unique ZIP
- A code assigned to a specialized delivery point rather than a general city area.
For a record search, preserve the ZIP exactly as each source shows it. Then check the city and parcel independently.
Verify South Jordan ZIP Code Delivery
Use an address-level USPS check for an edge parcel or a historical ZIP question. The South Jordan Post Office is listed at 10102 S Redwood Road, South Jordan, UT 84095-9998, but facility routing and delivery details should be confirmed through the current USPS address tool. Postal verification answers a delivery question. It does not identify owners, occupants, or neighbors.
A good ZIP code directory note includes the original city label, the original ZIP, the current ZIP if different, the source date, and the parcel or street clue that joins them. That small log prevents a postal change from becoming a false identity mismatch.
Map South Jordan ZIP Parcels
South Jordan’s CityView map places ZIP Codes beside current parcels, subdivisions, flood areas, parks, zoning, future land use, Daybreak, and the city boundary. Turn on ZIP and parcel layers together. A map click supplies spatial context; the county Assessor supplies the parcel identity; the Recorder supplies a dated instrument.
The city GIS service is map-first, so the complete web search controls are dynamic. Its legend documents the layers but does not promise a ZIP-wide people list. Avoid turning an ownership category or a map label into a current occupant name.
Open the Utah ZIP Areas page before reviewing the postal-boundary capture.
The ZIP-area map is a boundary reference, not an address-level lookup. Pair its approximate polygons with USPS and parcel records.
South Jordan Permit Records by ZIP
Utah’s statewide building-permit request form accepts “ZIP Codes (comma separated)” plus original permit-issued and sent-to-state date ranges. A request can compare 84095 and 84009 separately. The returned schema may include permit number, address, municipality, owner or contact fields where supplied, contractor, estimated cost, and phone where supplied.
The state warns that municipal submissions can be incomplete or delayed two to four weeks. The first five records cost $5, each additional record costs $1.05, and the full list is quoted at $4,000. These figures belong to the state permit-data request, not every city permit record. For a known South Jordan address, CityView or a city GRAMA request may be the more direct route.

The permit request capture shows the ZIP and date controls. Treat the result as a submitted permit record, not a population count.
South Jordan ZIP Voter Geography
The Utah voter lookup includes Street Address, City, and Zip after the name and birth-date fields. A one-person result can test a current name and address match. The paid statewide voter file adds residential and mailing address, county, precinct, congressional, state, school, and city-council districts. It does not provide the same free ZIP-wide interactive search.
For an area question, use boundary maps and aggregate data. South Jordan municipal districts are numbered 1 through 5, and precincts can cross a ZIP or parcel edge. Public voter fields include name, address, age range, party, and vote history, while protected and at-risk records are omitted or anonymized.
South Jordan Business Lists by ZIP
The Utah Secretary of State business-list request accepts comma-separated ZIP Codes, entity types, NAICS codes, recent changes or new registrations over one, three, or twelve months, and status choices of All, Active, Expired, or Inactive. It is useful for an entity layer around 84095 or 84009, not a personal-residence directory. Business lists do not include phone or email.
A full list costs $0.01 per record. A custom list has a $5 minimum for the first 200 records and $0.05 for each additional record. Example fields include entity ID and type, business name and address, registration and expiration, status, applicant, NAICS, and principal or member details. A principal’s address is an entity filing detail, not proof of South Jordan residence.
Review the Utah business-list request before reading its ZIP filters in the capture.
The business-list capture illustrates how ZIP filters sort entities. Use the filing’s own city and address fields before attaching a South Jordan label.
South Jordan Historical ZIP Records
Historical city directories and deeds may use 84095, South Jordan, Salt Lake County, Gale, a rural route, or a post-office locality. Search the University of Utah suburban Polk volumes for 1966–70 and 1972–74, then compare the printed street spelling and locality. The County Archives reports a 1958–1983 directory shelf and some later volumes to 1999.
For a pre-2015 address, the old ZIP is evidence of the era, not the parcel identity. The legal description, subdivision, Recorder entry, and GIS geometry make the stronger bridge. If the result has only a post office, retain that text and verify the modern city and ZIP separately.
South Jordan ZIP Address Gaps
No official all-street 84009/84095 crosswalk or historical South Jordan renumbering schedule was located. The honest next step is an address-level check through USPS, South Jordan GIS, the county Assessor, and the Recorder. If a ZIP-only request returns a broad set, narrow it with a street, parcel, date, or municipality.
ZIP rule. A ZIP Code helps sort records, but a city boundary, parcel, legal description, precinct, and postal route are separate geographies.
When the ZIP change creates uncertainty, compare the current and older forms, save the source date, and leave a field marked unknown when the record does not resolve it. For a person-level question, the South Jordan resident lookup keeps the identity check tied to a name and source.
